Swep Industries is committed to sustainability and as part of this plan we are developing new and innovative ways to not only provide high quality sustainable fuel sources but also preserving and enhancing our natural environments. With our innovative approach to biomass fuels we are now generating sustainable biomass production without increasing our carbon footprint.
.
.In 2021 and 2022 Swep Industries turned more than 500.000 non productive fruit trees in to high quality wood chips. Instead of the traditional method of using wood from the forest and burning these trees in the field, we save the forest from the contamination made by the fire in the fields and turn this in to high quality wood chips, used as biomass to produce electricity.
.
.
To continue our commitment to sustainable energy production Swep Industries works in Navarra clearing and cleaning up the forests that have been destroyed by wild bush fires in 2022 and recycle all the damaged trees to make high quality wood chips / biomass.
.
We also ensure that our production never uses virgin forest allowing them to flourish and create natural habitats, building a better future not only for our industry but for all of nature and those who work and live in those areas.

Elephant Grass – (botanic name: Miscanthus) is an excellent alternative biomass to wood, that also saves the forest. It is a perennial biomass crop that grows extremely well on marginal land and needs little fertility and weed management. The main feature distinguishing giant miscanthus from other biomass crops is its high lignocellulose yields and is now used commercially for bedding, heat and power generation but definitely also known as excellent feedstock for cellulosic ethanol production.

Sugar Cane – (botanic name: Cana Brava) is an industrial grade sugar cane, a tall grass that grows up to six metres (twenty feet) high. It is a very vigorous species that grows into a considerably dense mass of vegetation. This species needs very little water to grow quickly and can be harvested several times per year. This product can be used as biomass fuel for power generation or as feedstock to produce biofuels like bio-ethanol.
